A.W.Atkinson trained at Glasgow School of Art and has pursued a career in Freelance Illustration spanning 40 years, working for various organisations and companies including Collins, Oliver & Boyd [Publishers], The Ministry of Defence, The Home Office and The Department of Trade and Industry.

A.W.Atkinson currently lectures in Art part time, works as a freelance illustrator and creates commissioned illustrations and caricatures for individuals and companies celebrating particular events.

Unrestricted by subject matter, examples of recent undertakings include Military Vehicles, Aircraft, Naval Craft, Transport, Collectors`Cars. Sports Cars, Historical Warfare and events from Scottish History all of which can be seen under Caricatures.
